A few months ago, a street performer named Maurice appeared on American Idol and got a ticket to Hollywood after his performance of Morgan Wallen’s “Whiskey Glasses.”
Over on his TikTok, Maurice has a few clips of him singing other Wallen songs like “Silverado For Sale,” and “The Way I Talk” which caught Morgan’s attention.
Over the weekend, Morgan invited Maurice to join him onstage at his concert in Atlanta to perform “The Way I Talk.”
If you missed his appearance on Idol, Maurice explained that he got into country music while bouncing around in foster care after being taken from his mother who “wasn’t really fit to be a mom.”
The last foster parent that he ended up with was a man named Curtis in South Carolina, a band director who taught Maurice to play and appreciate music.
