A 28-year-old man is facing six charges after a crime spree in the Sussex area last month.
On July 11th, members of the Sussex RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a theft of fuel from a gas station.
Two days later, police were called to a suspicious fire at a property on Route 111 in Jeffries Corner where the outside of the building was damaged but no one was injured.
On July 18th, Mounties heard of a reported break and enter at a home on Elmview Avenue, in Sussex where a man said he was assaulted in his home and required treatment in hospital for serious injuries.
Police identified a person of interest in connection with all three incidents over the course of the investigation.
Officers arrested at 28-year-old man without incident at the intersection of of Park Street and O’Connell Avenue in Sussex on August 2nd.
A 24-year-old woman was also arrested but later released with a future court date.
Thomas Quinn Doiron of Sussex appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on August 2nd and August 4th where he was charged with:
-Aggravated assault
-Break and enter
-Uttering threats
-Attempted arson
-Theft under $5,000
-Driving while prohibited
Quinn was held in custody and he is scheduled to return to court on August 22.
Investigations continue to determine if other recent incidents in the Sussex area may be linked to this series of crimes.
