N.B. Day: What’s Open And Closed

Monday is New Brunswick Day and that means many places normally open on a weekday will not be.

Grocery stores, malls, and big-box stores will be closed for the day, including Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, and Walmart.

If you need a prescription or sunscreen, some drug stores will be open for reduced hours.

NB Liquor and Cannabis NB stores will be closed, but agency liquor outlets will be open.

Banks, post offices, and all government offices will also be closed, which means no mail delivery.

In Saint John, the City Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with events to mark New Brunswick Day and Emancipation Day.

Saint John Transit will not be operating, with regular service resuming on Tuesday. Garbage and compost collection in the city will follow its regular schedule.

If you are unsure if something is open, it is best to call ahead.

This year’s official New Brunswick Day celebrations are taking place in Frederiction.
