Pop-Up Gives Young Entrepreneurs Exposure

More than a dozen young entrepreneurs will showcase their talents in Moncton this week.

They will take part in the second annual Young Entrepreneur Pop-Up Event on Friday.

Moriya Boyle, marketing intern with Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc., said the vendors have been hand-picked.

“Quite a few of these entrepreneurs, they do have a business but there is a purpose to that business and they’re advocating for various issues, they’re donating to caused,” said Boyle.

Fourteen vendors from Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe ranging in age from 13 to 25 years old will take part.

Boyle said an event like this is important, especially given the exposure the young entrepreneurs will receive.

“Exposure is key when it comes to taking that first step. This is also a great opportunity for them to make a little bit of revenue,” said Boyle.

Confirmed vendors include Bagel Babes food truck, Essences by Abby, The Crystal Eye, Cheesecake Garage, Doughlicious Bakeshop, Of Dawn Vintage, Henna by Shrija, Chickadee Apparel, Face paint by Caitlin, Jays Cotton Candy, 3+ Corporation, Moonwake by Cass, and Clowtoe Studio. There will also be live music by four young performers.

The pop-event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday in the oval outside the Avenir Centre.
