Eight people are temporarily homeless after fires in Memramcook and Saint John last weekend.
The Canadian Red Cross says volunteers assisted two men with the costs of emergency lodging and food after an older two-storey structure with two apartments was damaged by fire in Memramcook early Sunday.
Later that day, two adults and four children were displaced after a stove-top fire caused smoke damage to one apartment of an older, four unit apartment building in Saint John.
The aid agency says they have been assisted with emergency lodging, meals, transportation and other basics pending cleanup and repairs.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
