Vitalité Health Network says it is continuing its “root cause analysis” of the incident that resulted in the death of a person at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on Sunday.
In a release today, the Network says traffic and wait times at the Emergency Department were not above standard, there were enough resources and skills available to safely manage the patient, and all triage processes were completed properly.
The Network said in a release earlier this week the person died under “unforeseeable and exceptional circumstances” after they were admitted to the ER.
No employees or medical staff were injured, and no other detals were released.
Vitalité says additional security measures have been put in place to increase the safety of Emergency Departmnt patients and staff.
